Hey! I’m Dan.

An advocate of the user, a lover of lattes, and a side-quest hero.

Currently immersed in the world of user experience design. After almost a decade in a career that revolved around art and design, I found myself the most interested in the end user’s experience – how they perceived it and their emotional response. I strongly believe in the process of research and validation in order to create pleasant, enjoyable and engaging experiences.

My Background

Hey! I’m Dan, a User Experience Designer currently living in Los Angeles, CA. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Media Art and Graphic Design more than a decade ago and have been playing several different roles in the design field including graphic design, photography, and interaction design. But more recently, I’ve been involved in the user experience design community where I take part in facilitating workshops and presenting fundamental lessons and activities.

Previously, I worked with We Are Matik where I assist in creating experiences for marketing.

Currently, I am contracted to work with Cipher Skin, developing wearable technology that helps physical therapist and athletic trainers measure the performance of their clients.

My approach to design is targeting problems of high priority, learning of common issues users may encounter and addressing it with rapid prototyping and scenarios. I find myself the most comfortable in the early phases of design, asking questions and learning about the problems to understand what success might look like.

In my spare time I like to read (books like Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products) and listening to podcasts (my favorite episode of How I Built This With Guy Raz | Airbnb: Joe Gebbia). I also enjoy meet-up hopping, trying to meet interesting individuals and learning about what others do.

Notable hobbies include drawing, photography and calisthenics.
